    FLSA suits hit all time high
    So far, 2014 is another record year for federal wage and hour lawsuits filed under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). This is likely due to several factors including the tightening of the federal standards for class certification, talk of raising minimum wage, and the recent directive to revise the regulations of white-collar exemptions.

    Proposed increase of minimum wage for federal contractors
    A proposed rule would implement a raise in the minimum wage for the employees of federal contractors as well as subcontractors to $10.10 per hour. The proposed rule would affect about 183,800 workers and is estimated to cost federal contractors $100 million a year.
